Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined that the country's huge progress in developing its naval industry has made enemies boost their military budget to countervail with Iran.
"Today, we are not an imitator in the naval defense and military industries but are a pioneer of style and this has incurred expenses on others and the enemies and they have spent billions of dollars to make changes in their military sector to increase their power for confronting us," Shamkhani said, addressing the inauguration ceremony of a forum in the Southern province of Hormozgan on Tuesday.

Noting that enemies' possible threats against Iran will most likely be posed from the sea, he said that the Iranian Naval forces are ready to respond to any aggression from the sea.

In relevant remarks last month, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami underlined that Iran would continue to develop and reinforce its naval strength and power.
