A Russian flotilla of warships arrived in Iran’s Caspian Sea territorial waters near the northern port city of Bandar Anzali.

Comprised of several warships, including a frigate named “Tatarstan” and a corvette named “Grad Sviyazhsk”, the naval flotilla berthed at Iran’s Bandar Anzali on Tuesday morning.

The Russian defense ministry had announced earlier that the naval fleet’s voyage to Iran and Kazakhstan is aimed at promotion of international cooperation among the Caspian Sea littoral states.
